This night light is overall a great choice. But I want to be more specific than that for you. Firstly, it has a smart sensor. This cute feature will automatically detect the light in the room. When it drops below a certain threshold, it will switch itself on, are you with me?

Firstly, the sensitivity of the automatic light feature needs some tweaking in my opinion. Why? Well, in most cases you need to have a really dark room for it to switch it on, are you with me?

It could easily be improved with a slight tweak to this feature. And, while I am on this topic, it leads me neatly into my next gripe…

The fact that there is no manual switch. Meaning, if this auto sensor decides it’s not dark enough, you can’t just override it. I feel that this manual switch would have been a much better idea.

Firstly the build of the device is quite fragile, in my opinion. Yes, it’s light, which is great. But, it feels a bit flimsy. To be honest, in most cases this will be fine because you won’t need to handle it much, but worth mentioning.

The brightness of the light

Lastly, I have to comment on the brightness of the light. In my opinion, a night light needs to be seen (obviously), but it should be quite subtle. Why? Because it shouldn’t distract you, in case you are sleeping, etc.

But, there is a fine balance. It needs to be bright enough for your kitty to see it, and use it for guidance, but not too glaring to put you off. For me, I feel this is a tiny bit too bright.

What I like about the Vont Night Light

The Vont night light is another one of my best choices. Firstly it has the automatic lighting that I personally think is mandatory with these night lights. The vendor state that it detects ambient light and switches on when required, which helps to save energy.

While we are on the topic of energy efficiency, this leads me to their next quality. The manufacturer claims it costs less than 30 cents a year to power. If this is true, that is a massive plus.

The packaging has also been well thought through. Meaning that they claim to have eco-friendly packaging. Finally, I need to comment on its compact size. This really helps to stop it from interfering with other plug-in devices.

What I do not like about the Vont Night Light
