My Best 3 raised cat bowls (Review)
In this section, I will share with you three raised cat bowls that I feel are the best. For each one, I will justify this choice by explaining what I like and do not like. This will help you to decide what works best for your needs.
01. Y YHY Ceramic Raised Cat Bowl (Best Option)
- Great design
- Ideal for wet food
- Avoids the chance of cat tags dropping in
- Helps to avoid vomiting
- Helps your kitty to swallow easier
- Ideal for cats with flat faces (e.g. Persian)
- Keeps her in a natural neck position
- Microwave & dishwasher safe
- Its a bit small
- The packaging could be improved (to avoid chipping)
- Chips easily
What I like about this Y YHY raised cat bowl
I love the design on this Y YHY offering, the little design of pet paws looks cute. For me, its little details like this that get me interested, are you with me?
But, from a more practical perspective, it is ideal for wet food. I say this because it helps to prevent the food slipping out of it. But, more importantly, ever experienced your kitties identity tag getting cat food over it? Well, this design will help to eradicate that, yey!
Apart from her tag, there are other great benefits of this raised & tilted design, such as making her swallow easier and helps her avoid vomiting.
Coincidently, if you have a cat with a flat face, such as a Persian cat, you may find this design even more beneficial. It will be a more beneficial neck position.
Another bonus with this is the fact that it is microwave and dishwasher safe, ideal for quickly cleaning and keeping it fresh.
In summary, if you are looking for a raised cat bowl that is simple to clean, ideal for keeping the food in the bowl, and not on your floor, while keeping her tag out of the meal, this is the one for you.
What I do not like about this Y YHY raised cat bowl
As much as I love this cat bowl, its not immune from problems, or shall I say small issues? Firstly, regarding its size. It’s ok, but I feel that they could have made it a bit larger. Not a deal-breaker, but I think you get my point.
With regard to the material, it is solid, but it can be prone to chipping, so be careful. Same with any porcelain/ceramic to be fair.
And, on this note, I feel that the packaging could have been better to prevent chipping whilst in transit.
02. Necoichi Raised Cat Bowl
- Reduces the chances of spillage
- Simple to clean
- Not easy to tip over
- The ideal angle for food & water consumption
- Prevents neck strain
- Has a raised lip (to keep food inside)
- Long-lasting, high-end porcelain material
- Could be bigger (ok for single meals)
- Bit of a faff with wet food (slides on the outer edge)
What I Love about this Necoichi raised cat bowl
Again, a lovely looking cat bowl, with a nice and clean aesthetic finish. The design is ideal to reduce the chance of unwanted spillage.
It’s simple to clean and stays standing quite firmly. For me, simple cleaning is an essential requirement, right?
Understand that this is raised as well as angled. This angled design is the ideal angle for food and water consumption. As well as helping your kitty to avoid neck strain.
With its raised lip it helps to stop the food (or water) escaping while your kitty is having her meal. If you are sick and tired of cleaning after mealtime, with conventional bowls, then you will appreciate this.
The build quality is solid, which is improved by the high-quality porcelain used to make it.
In summary, this is the ideal cat bowl for cat owners looking for a solution to relieve their cat of unwanted neck strain during meal times and the ability to reduce their time cleaning up food spillage.
What I do not love about this Necoichi raised cat bowl
This Necoichi cat bowl could be a bit bigger. Let me preface this by saying this, it is great if you tend to feed your cat one meal at a time, are you with me?
However, if you tend to supply enough for the day, while you are at work, you may stri=uggle. It would need to be bigger for this, in my opinion.
Also, the round design looks cute, don’t get me wrong, but if you like to supply wet food on one side, and dry on the other, it has a tendency to spill over to one big mix in the middle, are you with me?
03. Upsky Raised Cat Bowl
- Strong, sturdy product
- Simple to clean (take it out & clean)
- Magnet design (to get the best angle for you)
- Non-slip rubber system
- Non-toxic & taste-free
- A bit too rounded (Difficult to separate wet & dry food)
- The cat ears design tends to get in the way when cleaning
- The magnet is a bit weak
- Not recommended for microwaves
What I appreciate about this Upsky cat bowl
The first thing you will notice about this cat bowl is the clever magnet design. This clever engineering allows you to have the perfect angle for your kitty.
The build quality is strong and sturdy, to keep the bowl in place, while your ravenous kitty laps up her meals, are you with me?
In addition to this, the non-slip pads help to keep it in place while she is snacking away, face-down in the bowl.
It is simple to keep clean. This is improved by the fact that you can simply remove the bowl and wash it separately. And, it is comforting to know it’s non-toxic and taste-free.
In summary, if you are looking for a raised cat bowl with an adjustable angle, and simple to clean, while remaining sturdy during meals, then look no further.
What I do not appreciate about this Upsky cat bowl
One thing about this cat bowl, it is not recommended for microwaves, so forget that immediately. Also, the magnet design is a good idea, but in practice, I feel that the magnet could be a bit stronger, to improve its stability.
One other minor issue is the cat ears, they look cute, I get it, but when you are cleaning it, they do tend to get in the way, but maybe that’s just me.
In this section, I will answer some questions related to cats, eating & behavior. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
Do cats prefer wet or dry food?
Cats like both cats or wet food. There is an ongoing debate if you should be using wet or dry cat food, but, the reality is both have their pros and cons, like most things.
The biggest benefit of dry food is convenience. meaning you can leave dry food out all day, while at work, etc. However, there are other benefits of wet food, that dry food cannot match as well, are you with me?
