What you need to know about feeding tables
In this section, I will explain what are the best features and benefits to look out for. This will help you identify what to look out for to help your decision.
- Strong material (Typically bamboo)
- Reduces spillage on the floor
- Adjustable height
- Simple to clean
Strong material (Typically bamboo)
It’s important to get a table feeder that is strong. this will prevent your kitty from destroying it and make it last the test of time. Some of the best offerings tend to use bamboo for its strong qualities.
Reduces spillage on the floor
The best thing about these feeders is their ability to reduce spillage on your floor. Instead of placing these bowls on the floor and hoping for the best, you can control the outcome.
This is achieved by the feeder slotting the cat bowls into the bowl slots to stop them toppling over. It makes life a lot easier.
Ideally, you want it to be water-resistant. this stops it from absorbing water and makes it last longer.
This feature is not mandatory, but it helps. It allows you to adjust the height of the feeder to customize it to your fur babies’ requirements. This will make it even more comfortable for them.
Simple to clean
It’s not worth having one of these feeders if it isn’t easy to clean, in my opinion. The reality is, you will using this daily, right? So, it will constantly require cleaning.
And if it’s difficult to clean, you will either not do it or just start reverting back to another older bowl that is, are you with me?
My best 3 high cat feeding tables
In this section, I will share with you three of my best high feeders. In particular, I will focus on what I like to most and what I found that could be improved.
This will give you a well-rounded review of the offerings to help your decision.
01. Pupteck High cat feeder (Best Option)
- Simple to clean (just wipe the surface)
- Keeps the floor clean & dry
- Adjustable to your cat’s height (helps to protect her neck & joints)
- Strong bamboo material
- It comes with two bowls
- The setup can be a bit of a faff! (some holes not perfectly aligned or missing)
- The instructions are a bit hard to follow
- If you need to adjust the shelf, you need to unscrew it
What I like about this Pupteck cat feeder
This Pupteck cat feeder is simple to clean, you just need to wipe down the table surface. The bowls themselves are easy too, as they simple to clean off.
One of the things I love about this feeder is the fact that it keeps the floor clean and dry. With conventional cat bowls on the floor, they can be toppled over and get real messy, right?
Another big bonus of this feeder is the adjustability (more on this later). You can adjust it to match your kitty’s needs. This can help to protect her neck and joints.
It uses strong bamboo material so that it is durable and deals with your cat’s day-to-day usage demands.
In summary, if you want a high cat feeder that is adjustable, simple to clean and helps reduce the pressure on her neck and joints this is the one for you.
What I do not like about this Pupteck cat feeder
When you put this together it is a bit of a faff! What I mean is, you may find that some of the holes do not perfectly line up, are you with me? Which makes it a bit challenging. This may not happen to yours, but worth mentioning.
While we are on the topic of the installation, I have to say that the instructions could be improved. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel that they were not that simple to follow.
Finally, earlier I commented on the adjustable height, remember? Well, it’s a good feature, but, you will need to unscrew it, adjust it, then screw it back. It works, but just so you understand it is some work to change it.
02. Foreyy High cat feeder
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Simple to clean (Stainless bowls)
- Reduces food spillage onto the floor
- Helps your kitty digest food easier (swallow easier)
- Anti-slip feet (keeps it stable)
- The feeder is a bit wobbly
- Not all the holes seem to line up when assembling
- A bit difficult to place the water bowl without it spilling
What I love about this Foreyy cat feeder
Firstly, I love the look of this high feeding table. And, I feel that you will appreciate its aesthetics too, right?
It’s easy to clean this, this is largely thanks to the stainless steel bowls that are provided. Apart from the table and bowls themselves, it helps to reduce the food spillages on the floor that conventional bowls tend to, are you with me?
The height of the table will help your kitty consume and digest the food easier. This is because the angle makes it easier for her to swallow the food.
With regard to the quality of the table, it is great to see that it is water-resistant. And, from a practical perspective, it is quite stable. This is mainly due to the anti-slip feet provided. This further reduces the chances of spillages.
In summary, if you are looking for a well designed high feeder that is not prone to slipping around and simple to clean, then this might be the one for you.
What I do not love about this Foreyy cat feeder
I mentioned earlier that this feeder has anti-slip feet, right? Well, it does, but it is a bit wobbly. This has no reflection on the non-slip feet.
During the installation, you may notice that not all the holes match up perfectly, or maybe that is just me? Well, something to have in mind.
Lastly, when you attempt to place a bowl of water into the feeder (when it’s full), it can be challenging to do it, without it spilling. I get it, you could just fill it up after placing it, right? But, it is still a bit annoying.
03. Pawfect Pets Raised Feeder
- Helps ease pressure on her neck & back (ideal for older cats, arthritis, etc)
- Reduces spillage (no-spill design)
- The bowls fit neatly in place (reduce the chances of it getting knocked over)
- The bowls are easy to clean (stainless steel)
- Designed to be leak-proof (uses silicone rings to secure it)
- The edges are a little bit sharp
- The wood gets water-stained easily
- The bowls are a bit thin & flimsy
What I appreciate about this Pawfect cat feeder
This feeder is great for helping to reduce the pressure on her back or neck. In fact, it is useful for quite a few conditions such as arthritis or even older cats, that find general movement harder, are you with me?
It has a no-spill design to reduce the chances of food and water spillage. If you are like me, you will really appreciate not having to clean up these annoying spillages, right?
The bowls fit snuggly into the silicone ringed, leak-proof holes provided. This makes them secure and reduces the chances of them getting knocked over, which is a standard occurrence for conventional cat bowls.
As the provided bowls are stainless steel they are easy to clean, which makes life easier maintaining them.
In summary, if you are looking for a high feeder that holds the bowls securely, has a nice feeding angle to reduce neck strain and is simple to clean, this is ideal for you.
What I do not appreciate about this Pawfect cat feeder
I am not sure if it’s just me, but I found the edges on this are a bit sharper than I expected. Not a deal-breaker, but I feel this could be improved.
You may find that this table is a magnet for water stains. You will inevitably drop water on the surface frequently, and it seems to show up right after.
Lastly, the bowls are a bit flimsy. A bit nit-picky, I know, but I am just saying.
