What you need to know about cat window perches (Guide)

Before you decide on the best option for you, take a few moments to read this. I will explain some of the best features ad benefits available for you. Here are a few…

  • No suction cups
  • Easy to install
  • Nice soft base
  • Removable cover (Easy to clean)
  • Frees up your floor space

No suction cups

The best window perch we are focused on avoiding suction cups. But why? Well, let’s be honest, they tend to come off from time to time and leave suction marks on your window, right? Therefore, let’s find one that does not rely on them.

Easy to install

It’s essential, in my opinion, that it is easy to install the window perch. Ideally, you should not have to use any tools. But, still have the option to do so if you want to secure it further, are you with me?

Nice soft base

Your kitty will spend a lot of time using this window perch. So, it should be nice and soft for her. Let’s be honest, if it is not she will just ignore it and waste your time even setting it up, are you with me?

Removable cover (Easy to clean)

A removable cover is important, in my opinion. The pad that comes with these window perches are too big and bulky to clean, so it needs a removable cover. This will allow you to remove it easily when it’s dirty and clean it off.

Frees up your floor space

One of the great benefits of a cat window perch is the ability to free up your floor space. Cat beds are great (Click here for the best cat bed), but, sometimes you need to free up space. And, this is the perfect solution to keep her happy and free up your space at the same time.

My best 3 cat window perches without suction cups (Review)

In this section, I will share with you three of my best window perches that do not need suction cups. For each one, I will clearly explain what I like and do not like. Have a read to see what works best for you.

01. TRM cat window perch (Best Option)

Pros:

  • No suction cups required
  • Simple to install (No tools required)
  • Fits in with most modern-looking rooms
  • It has a soft and comfortable base
  • Easy to clean (removable cover)
  • Keeps the floor area clear

Cons:

  • May lean at an angle, without extra support (for larger cats)
  • The instructions need to be clearer (font too small)
  • May need a drill to secure it (optional)

What I like about this TRM cat window perch

When it comes window perches its always a bonus if you can avoid suction cups, and TRM makes this easy with their clever design. You do not need any tools to install this (more on this later). It uses velcro to secure it, and the option to use screws if required.

The general look of it will fit with most modern decor. So, if you have this style I feel that you will be happy with this in your home.

It comes with a nice and soft base for your kitty to relax and chill and most importantly, give you a break to get on with your task in hand, are you with me?

This base is complemented with the addition of the removable cover. This is great because it makes cleaning straight forward. You just have to simply take the cover off, clean it and put it back, are you with me?

Another thing I like about these window perches, in general, is the fact that they free up the floor space. Rather than having a big cat bed in your way, are you with me?

In summary, if you are looking for a modern looking cat window perch, without suction cups and easy to clean, then this will be the one for you.

What I dislike about this TRM cat window perch

As much as I love this cat perch, you have to keep an eye on it. In particular, for large cats. These cats may cause the perch to lean at an angle, due to their weight.

The reality is, especially for cats of this size you will need to consider securing it with a screw, rather than relying on the supplied velcro.

Lastly, regarding the instructions. They are quite hard to read, in my opinion. It would be helpful if the font size was larger to improve clarity.

02. Pet Store window perch

Pros:

  • No suction cup required (no suction marks)
  • Simple to install (no tools required)
  • Nice place for her to snuggle up
  • Easy to clean (removable cover)
  • Soft fleece cover provided

Cons:

  • The pad could be a bit softer
  • You may need to drill a screw in to secure it

What I love about this Pet Store window perch

This Pet Store window perch avoids suction cups and provides a great offering. Even without this it still makes the install process easy. Instead of suction cups, it uses velcro.

This perch makes a nice place for her to cuddle up and snuggle during her many daily naps. It comes with a nice and soft fleece cover that makes it desirable for her to use.

This fleece cover is also removable. Meaning, it makes cleaning a lot easier. You can just remove it, clean it and then place it back nice and fresh.

In summary, if you are looking for a window perch that is soft, cozy, comes with a fleece cover and easy to install, then this sounds like the one for you.

What I do not love about this Pet Store window perch

Whilst the fleece cover is nice and soft, the actual pad itself is quite firm. I just feel that it could be a bit softer to make it more enjoyable for her.

Also, earlier I mentioned that it uses velcro for installation, remember? Well, yes it does. But, to make it more secure you will have to consider using some screws. Which, for some people, is a bit more of a complex install.

03. Mosunx window perch

Pros:

  • No suction cups
  • Ideal sunbathing spot for your kitty
  • Saves space (when compared to other cat beds)
  • Simple to install
  • Appeal to her natural urge to climb
  • Simple to clean (removable cover)
  • Cozy fleece cover provided

Cons:

  • For larger cat’s you may need to secure it with some screws
  • If your shelf is too thin you may need to pad it

What I appreciate about this Mosunx window perch

Mosunx has provided a cat window perch that gets rid of the necessity to rely on suction cups. We have already discussed why this can be a drag, so I won’t state this again. Let’s just accept that this is good news, right?

An additional benefit, regardless of the lack of suction cups, is how easy it is to install. Like the other window perches I have discussed, it uses velcro to achieve this.

It is an ideal sunbathing spot for your kitty and keeps her out of your way while you get on with your day to day activities. Because it doesn’t require any ground space it frees up your floor.

Like most cats, they love to climb, and this window perch helps to feed that natural urge to get up high and observe. She will just love chilling at this window level.

It also comes with a fleece cover to keep her cozy. This cover is also removable so it makes cleaning straight forward. Just remove it and clean it, are you with me?

In summary, if you are looking for a cat window perch that is easy to install, saves ground space and simple to clean then this may be the one for you.

What I do not appreciate about this Mosunx window perch

Earlier, I mentioned that it uses velcro and simple to install, remember? Well, if you have a larger cat, like a Ragdoll (Click here for the best cat trees for them), you will need to consider using some screws to secure it. Similar to the others that I have mentioned earlier.

Also, to install this you need a window sill with a certain thickness. If you find that you have a thinner window sill, you may need to pad it out to fit it.
