Bubba’s Commercial Enzyme Cleaner Alternatives (Buyers Guide)
Before you head off and pick one of these up, it’s worth understanding the benefits and features they have to offer to make your selection more effective.
Here are a few to consider…
- Easy to use (Ideally a simple spray)
- Breaks down and eradicates cat urine
- Safe to use around other pets, etc (Ideally certified)
- Multiple surfaces (Not just restricted to carpets)
- Uses natural ingredients
Easy to use (Ideally a simple spray)
Having effective ingredients is one thing, but if you cannot apply them easily its a waste, in my opinion. Therefore, it’s better to have a simple spray that can be used to apply it.
Breaks down and eradicates cat urine
As a cat owner, you are probably more concerned with the ability to clean up that cat urine, right? Well, this is why I say its important to eradicate the urine. If it can’t do this, forget it!
Safe to use around other pets, etc (Ideally certified)
Some of the good enzyme cleaners will have a certification of safety, such as the Carpet Rug Institution (CRI), this is a good indication that the said cleaner is recognized by an external body. And, reassuring as a cat owner.
Multiple surfaces (Not just restricted to carpets)
The biggest misconception is these cleaners are limited to carpets and rugs. In fact, most of the good ones can be used on multiple surfaces, such as hardwood flooring. But some can even be used on bedding, laundry, etc.
Uses natural ingredients
For that extra peace of mind its good if the cleaner uses natural ingredients, this is not only better for the environment, it is better for your fur baby. Also, the fewer chemicals used the better.
My best 3 Bubba’s Commercial Enzyme Cleaner Alternatives (Review)
In this section, I will reveal three of my best enzyme cleaners. In fact, they are specifically my best Bubba’s Commercial Enzyme Cleaner alternatives, that you can use to clean up your cat urine, feces, etc.
For each offering I will explain what I liked the best, as well as things that I found annoying, that could be improved.
01. Rocco & Roxie enzyme cleaner (Best Option)
- Simple to use bottle (spray style)
- Breaks down the cat urine well
- Deals with cat urine smell
- Works quickly
- Certified safe (Carpet Rug Institution – CRI)
- Can be used on concrete and tiling as well
- Can be used on Laminate flooring or Hardwood
- You can also pre-spray stained laundry
- Quite a strong smell (lingers for a while)
- May struggle with some stubborn stains
- The spray bottle tends to get hard to use as it runs low
What I like about this Rocco & Roxie enzyme cleaner
When it comes to enzyme cleaners Rocco & Roxie makes this easy to use with its efficient enzyme cleaner spray application. Just squirt, clean and done. It breaks down the cat urine using the natural enzymes to make the cleaning process straight forward.
I love the fact that it works quickly, not just to break down the urine, but also to remove the annoying, lingering odor that comes with it, are you with me?
The smell is quite strong (more on this later), so it is reassuring to know that it has been certified safe by the Carpet Rug Institute (CRI).
I mention the CRI, but it is worth mentioning that it’s not just restricted to carpets and rugs. In fact, it can be used on laminate flooring, hardwood, tiling, concrete and more. So, don’t limit your mind to just carpets.
Believe it or not, you can even spray this onto badly stained laundry, before throwing it into the washer.
In summary, if you are looking for an enzyme cleaner that effective, certified by the CRI and deals with the odor of cat urine, then this sounds like this is the one for you.
What I do not like about this Rocco & Roxie enzyme cleaner
Earlier I briefly mentioned that the smell is strong, remember? Well, let me honest, it smells very strong, in my opinion. To be fair, there may be some that find it too much, but it does the job.
If you have some serious stains to get rid of, you may find that this struggles a bit, you will have to try and see how it works for you.
Lastly, regarding the spray mechanism itself, it is fine to start with. But, you may find, as it gets low, it doesn’t spray as effective as you may like.

- Absorbs your cat urine odor well
- Designed to get rid of stains as well
- Can also handle feces, vomit or even drool
- Multiple surfaces: Carpet, furniture, laminate, etc

While we are remembering what this can really do, let’s not forget that it is not just designed for urine, it can also deal with cat feces or even vomit. Which, I am sure you will agree, is very beneficial.
Like the last item I reviewed, this one can also deal with multiple surfaces, not just carpets. Such as furniture, laminate flooring, etc.
The cleanup process is made simple and I love the fact that it uses natural enzymes to break down the urine.
In summary, if you are looking for a cleaner that is effective, deal with feces, absorbs urine well and simple to clean with, then this sounds like an ideal match for you.
What I do not love about this Sunny & Honey enzyme cleaner
Like a lot of these enzyme cleaners, this offering by Sunny & Honey is no different, it has a strong smell, which some will find quite hard to deal with.
Also, understand that you can clean up the mess well, but it won’t stop your kitty returning right back to that same spot n the future.

It is claimed that it is safe around other pets, etc. This is reassuring, especially when you notice how powerful the smell is (more on this later).
If you have other surfaces that have been soiled, that need attention, such as your bedding, you will be happy to learn that this can be used on it as well. In fact a good range of surfaces in fact, such as hardwood flooring, laundry, etc.
Also, if you have problems with other pet smells such as feces or vomiting, then this can also be used to address the odor and stains they have left behind.

What I do not appreciate about this TriNova cleaner
Earlier I mentioned the powerful smell, well, just to re-iterate, it is quite strong. Some people are happy with this because it is part of the sacrifice for cleaning that stubborn urine stain that is driving them mad. But, others will find it too much.
Also, in some cases, if you have a real stubborn stain, you may notice that you need more than one application to get it completely removed.
In this section, I will answer some questions related to cleaning up after your cat and cleaners in general. If you have another question you need to be answered, feel free to contact me.
Can other household cleaners be used for cat urine?
Yes, other cat owners claim to use various natural cleaning alternatives. However, there is a lot of things that do not work or are perceived solutions such as using bleach that is actually quite dangerous. This is why an enzyme cleaner is popular.
