What you need to know about cat beds (Guide)
In this section, I will explain what the best features and benefits of these cat beds. This will help you to make more of an informed decision.
- Raised rim (to help relieve anxiety)
- Machine washable
- Water-resistant (& dust-free)
- Anti-slip pads
- Sufficient support (for head & shoulders)
Raised rim (to help relieve anxiety)
The design of the cat bed is important, especially when you are looking for an anti-anxiety type of bed. The raised rim is important because it will help to keep your kitty cozy and feel secure, which, in turn, will help to make her feel less anxious.
Machine washable
If you wish to keep this cat bed clean then having it machine washable is a must, in my opinion. If not, you will have to willing to do regular hand washes, which is not always practical, are you with me?
Water-resistant (& dust-free)
It is inevitable that, from time to time, there will be mess made, right? So, in an effort to minimize the mess it’s important to get a cat bed that is not only dust-free but also water-resistant.
This will also reduce the chance of urine spilling through to your floor if an “accident” occurs.
Anti-slip pads
When you have smooth flooring, such as laminated or vinyl, you will notice that items, such as these cat beds, will slip and slide when there is any movement.
To combat this, it’s important to choose a cat bed that has anti-slip pads to reduce this movement and keep your kitty happy and secure.
Sufficient support (for head & shoulders)
This follows on with the raised rim that I mentioned earlier, remember? Well, some of the best cat beds offer extra support for your kitty head and shoulders. This will not only keep them happy, but it will also help to relieve joint and muscle pain.
My 3 best cat beds for anxiety (Review)
In this section, I will share with you three of my best cat beds for anxiety. For each selection, I will explain what I like and what I do not like. This will help you to decide what works best for your situation.
01. Savox Anti-Anxiety cat be (Best Option)

Pros:
- Soft and cozy (helps her to feel less-anxious)
- Rim is raised (gives a sense of security)
- Machine washable (also hand wash if required)
- Water-resistant
- Resists dust
- Anti-slip technology (on the bottom)
- Goes well with most home decor
Cons:
- The bottom is quite thin (Could do with more cushioning)
- The sizing seems a little off (the large seemed smaller)
- Needs fluffing up, initially
What I like about this Savox cat bed
This offering by Savox is first and full most aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion. You won’t struggle to fit this in with your existing decor, and get your friends asking “where did you get that from?”.
It is soft and cozy with a cleverly raised rim. This is not just to make it look good, which it does, it is a practical design choice to make her feel more secure, which in turn, makes her feel less anxious.
When it comes to maintaining this item, no need to worry. Why? Well, firstly, it is dust and water-resistant. This will help to fend off a lot of the surface mess, right?
Also, it is machine washable, meaning if it does, or shall I say “when” it gets dirty, you can easily throw it in the washer to clean it up, are you with me?
I also appreciate the fact that they have incorporated an anti-slip system to help prevent it from slipping and sliding all over the place. Especially on laminate or smooth surfaces.
In summary, if you are looking for a nice looking cat bed, that helps to relieve anxiety, make her feel comfortable and simple to wash, then look no further.
What I do not like about this Savox cat bed
I do like this cat bed, but it does have some annoyance. Let me explain. Firstly, regarding the bottom, it is quite thin, to be honest. I just feel it could do with more cushioning there.
This is compounded by the fact that, when you first get it, you need to give it a good fluffing before you get the desired look, are you with me?
Lastly, regarding the sizing, not sure if it’s just me, I feel that it may be a little bit off. The large version just seemed a little smaller than I expected, but that might just be my perception.
02. Neekor Calming cat bed

Pros:
- Helps to relieve anxiety
- Environmentally friendly
- Resists mold
- Machine washable (& dryer – becomes fluffier)
- Provides head & shoulder support (helps joint & muscle pain)
- Vibrant color choices
- Water-resistant (& dust)
- Ideal for small or medium-sized cats
Cons:
- The bottom could do with more cushioning
- Has a habit of sliding on the floor
- Recommended to take approx 2 hours to shake it up (make it fluffy)
- Not ideal for large cats
What I love about this Neekor cat bed
If you are looking for a cozy cat bed that has some gorgeous colors, look no further. Not just that, the manufacturer claims it is environmentally friendly, which is a bonus. In addition to this, it is water and dust resistant. This will help to keep off most unwanted soiling.
Regarding maintenance, it is comforting to learn that it resists mold. And, it is also machine washable. In fact, they state it can even go into the dryer to make it fluffier, nice!
The design of this cat bed is good. I say this because it helps to relieve joint and muscle pain.
In summary, if you are looking for a great looking cat bed that has a great selection of colors, helps her feel less anxious and simple to clean, then this is the one for you.
What I do not love about this Neekor cat bed
Similar to the previous review, I feel that this Neekor cat bed could benefit with more cushioning on the bottom section. In addition, you may find that it may slide around a bit on the floor.
When you first get this, it is recommended to give it approx 2 hours to fully fluff up properly. Not ideal, but I guess its not the worst thing. You can just leave it and return later after you have been out for a couple of hours, right?
Lastly, if you have a big cat, like a large main coon you may find that it is not quite big enough.

- Some cats just won’t take to it (subjective)
What I appreciate about this Qucey cat bed
This Qucey cat bed is a natural choice, just by looking at its warm cozy-looking appearance. Aside from that, it is also simple to clean and can be put into the washing machine. I love this for its convenience, right?
Like some of the other reviews on here, it also has a raised rim. This not only makes it cozier, it also helps to provide support for her muscles and her joints. As well as extra support for her neck and shoulders.
I also appreciate the fact that it is simple to store. It comes in a bag that is great for storage, which is efficient in space.
In summary, if you are looking for a cat bed that helps her to feel less anxious, simple to clean and can be stored quite easily, then this is the one for you.
What I do not appreciate about this Qucey cat bed
When you first get this, because it is shrink-wrapped, you will need to leave it for several hours for it to fully return to its intended fluffy finish.
If you have an overly aggressive cat, this may not be the ideal thing for her. And, finally, this is applicable to all of these items reviewed, the reality is some cats just won’t take to it. And, it’s just a subjective thing, in this case, some will, some won’t, are you with me?

Do pheromones help with anxious cats?
Yes, many owners swear by pheromone collars (Click here to see why I rate this one the best) as a great tool to help with their cat’s aggression and anxiety. However, each cat is different and you have to test it and see if she responds well.
