What you need to know about cat brushes for cats that hate them (Guide)

Cats that hat cat brushes are not that easy to please. I find that these brush gloves help because they make the job more gentle. They help to make your kitty feel secure rather than conventional brushes.

Therefore, in this section, I will share with you some of the top features & benefits of these brushes to help you know what to look out for…

  • Simple to clean (Ideally machine washable)
  • Can be used for de-shedding or general grooming
  • Fits comfortable
  • Can be used for short or long-haired cats
  • Compact (can be placed in a bag or pocket)

Simple to clean (Ideally machine washable)

The worse thing is having a brush that is difficult to clean, right? Well, one of the benefits of these brush gloves is the fact that most of the good ones can be machine washed. This is a big time-saving.

Can be used for de-shedding or general grooming

For other brushes, you have to consider getting one brush for de-shedding and another for general grooming, etc. The good thing about these gloves is they can, in most cases, be used for both. In addition, they can be used for just massaging her.

Fits comfortable

Most of these glove brushes will have adjustable straps on them. these straps will help to make the glove fit nice and snuggly.

Can be used for short or long-haired cats

If you have a long or short-haired kitty, no worries, these gloves will still do the job. They generally work well with longer hair to be fair, but they can accommodate short hair as well.

Compact (can be placed in a bag or pocket)

When it comes to storage, this is where they excel. The great thing is you can pretty much throw them anywhere. This includes your bag or even just store them in your pocket if that works better for you.

My best 3 cat brushes for that hate being brushed (Review)

In this section, I will share with three of my best cat brushes. Specifically for cats that just hate being brushed. For each one, I will explain clearly what I love and do not like that much.

This will help you to decide what will work best for your needs.

01. HandsOn gentle brush glove (Best Option)

Pros:

  • Gently strokes her fur
  • Can strap them on with velcro wraps (snug & secure)
  • Can be used for de-shedding, grooming or massaging
  • Ideal for big or small cats
  • Easy to clean (Machine washable)
  • Compact (will fit in your pocket or bag)

Cons:

  • They can be a bit difficult to remove if they are wet
  • Your hands may get a bit sweaty
  • Some fur may not be held in the glove (ends up on the floor)

What I like about this HandsOn brush glove

This brush glove gently strokes your kitty to help her feel comfortable while you brush. This is ideal for cats that dread being brushed, are you with me?

There is a wrist strap provided that helps to keep the glove on securely while you use it. The glove can be used for multiple tasks. More specifically. de-shedding, grooming or even just massaging her, to keep her calm.

Whether you have a small cat or a large cat, e.g. Main Coon, you are good with this glove, it does the job.

I love the fact that this glove is so compact. You can throw this into your bag or even chuck it in your pocket for convenience.

More importantly, cleaning it is easy. Once you remove the bulk of the fur you can even machine wash it to keep it really clean.

If you are looking for a cat brush that keeps her clam, that’s easy to clean and fits most cat owners snuggly, then look no further.

What I do not like about this HandsOn brush glove

As you can imagine, in reality, nothing is perfect, right? And, this glove is no different. Firstly, if you get these wet, you may find them a bit more challenging to take off. Not a big issue to be fair, but worth letting you know.

Because they fit so snug, for most people, with extended use you may find that your hands get a bit sweaty.

And, lastly, regarding the fur that comes off your kitty during brushing. You may notice that there are some bits that do not stick to the brush, Instead, they may fall to the ground.

02. Delomo gentle brush glove

Pros:

  • Gentle brush (Ideal for timid cats who hate brushing)
  • Ideal for de-shedding cats
  • Reduces cat fur floating in the air
  • Can be used wet or dry
  • Ideal for short or long-haired cats
  • Adjustable straps (helps to fit most owners)
  • Machine washable

Cons:

  • The fur has a tendency to stick onto the fabric (tough to get off)
  • Would be better if there was a left-handed version
  • The velcro tends to scratch your wrist

What I love about this Delomo brush glove

If your kitty is timid and tends to run for the hills when the “conventional” brush comes out. Then you may be happy to learn that this may help you.

If your cat is shedding and dumping tons of fur onto your carpet, this gentle glove will grab hold of it for you. Also, it will help to reduct floating cat fur in the air.

The beauty of this Delomo glove is the fact that it can be used wet or dry, it doesn’t matter. And, regardless if you have a long-haired cat or short, she will benefit from it.

Like the previous offering, it also has adjustable wrist straps. This will keep your hands comfortable and snug while you keep her brushed.

Once you are done brushing her, you can rest assured that you can clean it off quite easily. This is helped by the fact that it is machine washable.

In summary, if you are looking for cat brush that can remove all the dead hairs, easily to clean and can be used wet or dry, then this is the one for you.

What I do not love about this Delomo brush glove

One little annoyance is the fur sticking onto the fabric of the glove. It is a bit annoying because it is tough to get off at times.

If you are a lefty, then you may appreciate having a left-handed glove. Not a big issue for me personally, but there will be others that would appreciate this.

Lastly, a small nit-pick in the scheme of things. The velcro that secures the glove to your wrist has a tendency to be a bit scratchy. Meaning, the velcro scratches against your wrist when it’s secure.

03. Starroad-Tim gentle brush glove

Pros:

  • Great at removing lots of cat fur (e.g. shedding)
  • Comfortable (has an adjustable strap)
  • Massages her (& improves blood circulation)
  • Ideal for short or long-haired cats
  • Can be used dry or wet
  • Excellent ventilation (mesh on the back)
  • Compatible with left-handed owners (left & right-hand provided)

Cons:

  • The “one-size fits all” may not be comfortable for everyone
  • The fur does not peel off that easy (especially if it’s not a large clump)

What I appreciate about this Starroad-Tim brush glove

This glove is great at removing clumps of hair, for example, when she is shedding. It has a nice comfortable fit, in my opinion. This is improved by the adjustable strap provided.

The glove gently massages her fur and body as well as removing the unwanted dead fur. Like the other gloves on here, this will also be ideal for long or short-haired cats, so no issues here. Also, it can be used wet or dry.

One thing that jumped out to me was the great ventilation it offers. It has a meshed back that lets your hands breathe while you use it. This eliminates the sweating hand problem some gloves have, are you with me?

Also, it is great to see it comes with left & right-hand glove. this is great for left-handed cat owners, who sometimes get over-looked.

In summary, if you are looking for a cat brush that does the job, is well ventilated, ideal for left and right-handed owners, then this is the one for you.

What I do not appreciate about this Delomo brush glove

This glove by Starroad-Tim comes with a “one-size fits all” glove. In theory its great, and ideal for their logistics, but there may be some hand sizes that may feel its not the ideal size for them.

Also, if you have quite small pieces of fur, you may find that it can be difficult to get it off. But, not sure if that’s just me though.
